Radio Maria Malawi FM frequencies
Radio Maria uses two frequencies, 91.2 and 91.4 FM, the same pair MACRA lists for it in the national plan. These are the towns Radio Maria names. It says they reach about 85% of Malawi, so some areas get no FM signal: use Way 1 there.

No radio set? Use your phone’s FM app
- Plug in wired earphones. The cable is the aerial, so Bluetooth earphones will not work.
- Open the FM Radio app. Many Tecno, itel and Infinix phones have one built in.
- Type 91.2 or 91.4, or tap Scan and pick Radio Maria from the list.
- Want the loudspeaker? Switch the sound to the speaker, but leave the earphones plugged in.
It uses no data and no airtime. iPhones do not have an FM app, so use Way 1.
How much data does Radio Maria use?
Radio Maria streams at 32 kbps (we measured it in October 2026). That is about the same as Times Radio or Zodiak, and a lot less than MBC, which uses about 25 MB an hour. Live radio keeps using data until you press pause. More ways to stretch a bundle: our mobile data guide.
Missed a programme? Catch up later
You cannot rewind live radio, but Radio Maria posts recordings of past programmes, and its app can save them to listen offline.
Who runs Radio Maria Malawi?
Radio Maria Malawi is a Catholic radio station run by the Association of Radio Maria Malawi, set up in 1999. It is part of the World Family of Radio Maria, a network of Radio Maria stations that started in Italy. It went on air on 24 August 1999.

Yes. The stream on radiomaria.mw works anywhere in the world. Malawi is on Central Africa Time (GMT+2), so check the time at home before Mass or a programme.
Is Radio Maria only for Catholics?
No. It is a Catholic station, but anyone can listen. Its president has said its listeners and supporters include Muslims, Seventh-day Adventists and CCAP members.
