Radio ABC
Christian radio from African Bible College in Lilongwe, with Bible teaching, gospel music, talk shows and news. Listen free on your phone or tune in on FM.
- 93.6 & 93.8 FM
- About 60 MB an hour online
- Run by African Bible College
Quick answer: Open the Radio ABC page on Zeno.fm (the Listen live now button below goes straight there) and tap the black Listen button. It is free and uses about 60 MB of data an hour. On FM, try 93.6 or 93.8, the numbers Malawi’s regulator MACRA gives the station.
Three ways to listen
Listen live on your phone
No app and no sign-up. All you need is a browser and some data or Wi-Fi.
Open the Radio ABC page on Zeno.fm
Tap the Listen live now button at the top of this guide. It opens Radio ABC on zeno.fm, the free radio site the station uses for its online stream.
Searching yourself? Look for Radio ABC with the tags Religious and Malawi. Other stations around the world use the same name.
Tap the black Listen button
Under the open Bible picture is a black button that says Listen. Tap it.

The Listen button is under the station picture. Listen, and pause when you are done
The sound starts after a few seconds and the button changes to Pause. A small player also appears at the bottom of the screen with the name of the song or show. Tap Pause to stop.

Playing: tap Pause to stop.
An advert may play first. Zeno.fm is free because it sometimes shows or plays a short advert before the radio starts. Wait a few seconds, or close the advert with its small x. Keep the page open while you listen.
Radio ABC FM frequencies
MACRA’s current FM plan gives African Bible College two national frequencies, 93.6 and 93.8 FM. It does not say which town uses which, and the station does not publish a list, so try both. The college’s own website still lists its older numbers: 88.3 FM for Lilongwe and about 20 miles around, and 89.9 FM for Mzuzu.

- 93.8FMThen try
Which one is mine? Tune to 93.6 first. If the sound is weak or crackly, try 93.8 and keep the clearer one. Nothing there? In Lilongwe try 88.3, in Mzuzu try 89.9. If none of them comes in, use Way 1.
No radio set? Use your phone’s FM app
- Plug in wired earphones. The cable is the aerial, so Bluetooth earphones will not work.
- Open the FM Radio app. Many Tecno, itel and Infinix phones have one built in.
- Type 93.6 or 93.8, or tap Scan and pick Radio ABC from the list.
- Want the loudspeaker? Switch the sound to the speaker, but leave the earphones plugged in.
It uses no data and no airtime. iPhones do not have an FM app, so use Way 1.
How much data does Radio ABC use online?
Radio ABC streams at 128 kbps (we measured it in October 2026), the same as Radio Alinafe. That is about twice as much as Timveni (about 30 MB an hour) and four times as much as Times Radio, Zodiak or Radio Maria (about 15 MB an hour). The sound is clearer, but a small bundle goes faster. Live radio keeps using data until you press pause. More ways to stretch a bundle: our mobile data guide.
Catch up on Bible teaching and videos
We found no way to replay past live shows, but the college puts its Bible College by Radio course online as a podcast and posts videos on YouTube.
Video uses far more data than radio. On a small bundle, stick to Way 1 or Way 2.
Who runs Radio ABC?
Radio ABC is the radio station of African Bible College (ABC), a Christian university on its own campus in Area 47, Lilongwe. The Malawi college opened in 1989 and teaches theology, business, community development, audiology and mass communications. It is part of African Bible Colleges, which also runs colleges in Uganda and Liberia, ABC Mission Hospital, ABC Christian Academy and ABC TV.
The station calls itself a Christian radio station for the whole family. It plays Bible teaching, Christian and gospel music, including Malawian artists, talk shows and news. One of its best-known programmes is Bible College by Radio, a Bible course taught by Dr and Mrs John W. Chinchen, now also a podcast. The college says its Mzuzu station broadcasts in Tumbuka as well as English.

Radio ABC FAQ
Is it free to listen online?
Yes. There is no fee, account or app needed. You only pay for the data you use, about 60 MB an hour. Zeno.fm may show a short advert first.
Can I listen from outside Malawi?
Yes. The Zeno.fm player works anywhere in the world. Malawi is on Central Africa Time (GMT+2), so check the time at home before your favourite show.
Is Radio ABC only for Christians or ABC students?
No. Anyone can listen. The station is Christian and built around Bible teaching, but the music, talk and news are for everyone.
I have 88.3 FM written down. Is that still Radio ABC?
88.3 FM (Lilongwe) and 89.9 FM (Mzuzu) are the numbers on the college’s website. MACRA’s newer national plan gives the station 93.6 and 93.8 FM. Try 93.6 and 93.8 first, and fall back to the old number if that is where your radio still finds it.
Is Radio ABC the same as ABC in Australia?
No. Here ABC stands for African Bible College. Australia’s public broadcaster and several other stations are also called ABC or Radio ABC, so check for the Malawi tag when you search.
Is there a Radio ABC app?
We could not find a Radio ABC app of its own. The Zeno.fm website needs no install. If you prefer an app, the free Zeno.fm app has the same stream: search for Radio ABC and pick the Malawi one. Avoid “Malawi radio” apps from other developers that only repackage streams.
