Kamuzu International Airport (LLW) is the usual gateway for visitors and returning Malawians flying into Lilongwe. After landing, you go through immigration, baggage reclaim, and customs before the arrivals hall.
Have your passport, return ticket or onward plan, and hotel or host address ready. Visa on arrival travellers should allow extra time. SIM cards and cash exchange are available landside, but queues grow when two flights land close together.
Agree a taxi fare before you leave the airport forecourt, or use a ride you booked in advance. Night arrivals cost more.
